Urgent Centre Championship Forms Need Checking

If you have already handed in your Centre Championship Forms could you please check on Tuesday night 30 February that your child/children are qualified for their events. We have a number of athletes who have handed in forms and will not be eligible to compete in all events they have nominated for. Please remember you must compete at least 4 times and at least one of these must be after Christmas. If you have selected an event that you are not eligible we can change it at training. If these events are not modified by Tuesday night we will not be able to make changes after this time.

Some people have asked to change events this can be done as long as it is done by 6:30 pm Tuesday 30 January after this time all events are locked in.

End of Season Need to Knows

With the end of season approaching we have many important events, dates and deadlines. These can cause a lot of confusion for parents and athletes.

We have 3 weeks left of our weekly Swan Valley meets, concluding on the 3 February. These programs go towards our end of season trophies and awards.

For the U11 to U17 athletes they have the State Combined Event on the 3 and/or 4 of February. This isn’t a club level event athletes compete at a centre level (Swan Valley shirt is required). Nominations are due by the 11:59p.m. 21 January and nominations need to be submitted through your resultshq profile. These don’t get given to the club (Ellenbrook). Please be aware that by nominating your child you are agreeing to complete Swan Valley Parent Rosters. Failure to complete this roster may affect your child’s Centre Championship Eligibility.

At the conclusion of the weekly meets we have our Centre Championships. This will occur on Friday 9 February, first call at 5:30 p.m., and Saturday 10 February first call 7:45 a.m. This will run like our normal Saturday meets, but our event winners will be presented with medals for the first three places. Some events may require heats and finals. This is a centre level event and athletes will compete in club colours. Nomination forms are due to the club by 6:30 p.m. Tuesday 30 January no late forms will be accepted. To be eligible for Centre Championships athletes must of competed a minimum of four times in the event they nominate for and one of these must be after Christmas. Athletes may choose a maximum of six events.

Some families choose to end their season at our Club Centre Championships. If you wish to move to the next level of competition, then you need to nominate for Zones. Zones will take place at Kingsway Sporting Complex on the 17 and 18 February. Nominations are found on your resultshq profile. Nominations close at 11:59p.m. 5 February.  Zones is a centre level competition where we compete against other centres within our area, because of this, athletes in under 9 and over will be required to wear a Swan Valley shirt. Athletes who perform well and qualify based on their position will qualify for States. Please be aware that by nominating your child you are agreeing to complete Swan Valley Parent Rosters. Failure to complete this roster may affect your child’s Centre Championship Eligibility.

States is when the top athletes from each Zone come together and compete to be the best in the State. State will be held at the WA Athletics Stadium on the 2, 3 and 4 March. Athletes who qualified will be required to nominate through their resultshq profile after Zones. Due date is to be advised. Please be aware that by nominating your child you are agreeing to complete Swan Valley Parent Rosters.
