Week 3 of Competition

The green books are here so please come and collect your copy. For new parents this is your athletics handbook and has all the information you will require for the season.

As most of you are now aware Kingsway have had to change the first marshalling call in the morning to 7:30 a.m. Please be aware that if you are running late and miss marshalling athletes are not allowed to enter track events, however can join field events if you go and see the age group chaperone. Ellenbrook each week is responsible for setting up and pulling down the shot put and discus sites. We require parent help each week to ensure this happens as it is often being left to the same few families each week.

This week we have our Opening Ceremony. Athletes are asked to be at Kingsway by 7:30 so that we can organise the club for the march.

Please ensure that all athletes are in correct uniform from this week as no more allowances can be made by Kingsway. Uniforms are available at training for those of you who need to still purchase shirts or collect orders. Shorts must be plain navy blue no shorts with logos, stripes or other markings are allowed to be worn.

A reminder to all parents that they are required to stay with their children at all times during training and on Saturday morning competition days. No child is allowed to train or compete without a guardian being present. We are beginning to notice a trend in children being dropped off and this will lead to athletes not being able to train or compete.  Parents are required to assist with their child’s behaviour as it is difficult to train groups when some individuals are constantly disrupting the group.

Due to the large volume of athletes we are looking for parents who are willing to assist with each age group. Please approach the committee if you are willing to help, especially with chaperoning the groups.

We still have rego packs that need to be collected. Please come and see us as soon as possible.

Have a great week.
